Yes, if you get a referral from your GP to see Dr Mackender for your weight loss program you will get Medicare rebates for each consultation. Rebate amounts will vary and will be outlined when you make your appointments.
Unfortunately Medicare does not rebate counselling, however some private health insurance companies will provide rebates depending on the type and level of your cover. If you wish to take advantage of a health cover rebate, please let us know and we will organise a rebate with your health fund for you.
Dr Mackender prescribes GLP1 (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) as well as other known reliable weight loss medications including phentermine/ Topiramate, Bupropion, and Naltrexone to name a few.
Complications and side effects are rare, however occasionally can occur. We pride ourselves on ensuring we support our patients every step of the way, so please call our office (02 6436 1011) if you feel you are experiencing a side effect or complication. We will never leave you alone and unheard.
Yes you can. There are new studies showing CoolSlimming treatment in combination with weight loss medication is having fantastic results. CoolSlimming allows you to remove targeted fat cells whilst continuing to lose weight overall.
